Welcome to Adult Learning Theory and Presentation Skills. This 2-hour training is required for all Registry-Approved trainers, including ITN trainers. The purpose of this training is to share quality practices for training adults. To receive credit for taking this training, you must complete all of the reading, activities, and objective review challenges. There is a certificate you may print out for your records upon completion of the course. Once completed, the training will appear under Section 3 of your Professional Development Record.

This training will help you understand what competencies are and how they are integrated into the Illinois professional development system. You will explore resources, tools, and steps involved in the competency alignment process and will have the option of aligning a new or existing training of your own. Paths for submitting a training for competency approval will also be discussed along with relevant documents you may need.
