Community Systems Development (CSD) impacts all aspects and all staff in the CCR&R System in some way. This introductory training to Community Systems Development was created to give a simple overview and help build the culture of CSD for all CCR&R staff.  Through reading material, activities, and presentations, participants will learn some key terms and components of Community Systems Development philosophies.

This training will explore the concept of Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) as an essential component of first-rate agencies.  Through reading material, activities, and presentations, participants will learn the key features of this leadership philosophy, the steps in the CQI process, and how to create a Continuous Quality Improvement Plan (CQIP) to guide change.

This course provides a brief overview of lead contamination and the harmful effects of lead exposure. Illinois state requirements for lead in water testing are discussed along with the procedures for testing and developing a mitigation plan. This training meets the Illinois DCFS licencing renewal training requirement for the testing of lead in water.

This course provides information on caring for children with special needs in typical child care settings. The training helps increase the knowledge and comfort level of participants to enhance their ability to care for young children with disabilities in early childhood environments. It will discuss adaptations and modifications that will assist all children to participate in activities. This meets the DCFS requirement for early childhood providers in special care inclusion training. The course will provide 7.5 contact hours and/or 1/2 Gateways credential point.

This online instruction will discuss the signs, symptoms, causes, triggers, prevention and long-term effects of Shake Syndrome and traumatic brain injury. Successful completion of this training meets DCFS pre-service requirements for the Home Care Provider License application. Licensed providers will receive hours of training for renewal of the license.

An Introduction to Transitions discusses the effects of various types of transitions - including activity, classroom, program, family, and community - on families and a child's learning and development. This course is an intermediate level course.  It is intended to build upon prior knowledge of your program's curriculum.  This training gives participants an overview of important factors for implementing a curriculum, as well as reviewing indicators of a high-quality curriculum. This course introduces the process of developmental screening in the early childhood setting to child care practitioners. Observation of a young child's growth and development provides evidence of age-appropriate skill level, continued monitoring of milestones, and the need for referral into an early intervention program. This online course is an introduction to the Illinois Early Learning Guidelines for Birth to Age Three (IELG). The content in this course will cover the history, purpose and role of the Illinois Early Learning Guidelines, aid participants in developing a working knowledge of IELG and provide resources for the implementation of the IELG.

This training gives early childhood practitioners an overview of the revised Illinois learning and development standards for preschool children ages three to five. Training participants will learn how to connect the standards with daily practice in their programs.
